Millions left in unclaimed Premium Bonds

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has launched a bid to find the winners of £25 million worth of unclaimed investment Premium Bond prizes.

The government backed investment company has said that the largest unclaimed prize is £25,000, but there is no time limit on collection of prizes.

Because NS&I notifies winners by post the winners of the hundreds of unclaimed cheques have probably moved house without providing a change of address.

Premium Bond manager at NS&I, Sally Swait, said: "It's remarkable that we need to remind customers to claim any prize, particularly those worth £25,000.

"We're standing by to give away as much as possible of the £25 million in unclaimed prizes and urge customers to get in touch to check if they are a winner."
