The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) project is a free, independent service provided through the workplace and is called PensionsForce.
"I am delighted the government has agreed to provide funding and support to this exciting new initiative," said NAPF director of policy, Joanne Segars.
"Pensions information provided on a face-to-face basis through the workplace can make a difference in boosting awareness of pensions and encouraging saving for retirement."
The scheme will explain the options open to working people and provide information on workplace pensions, allowing them to make a more informed choice.
PensionsForce will be free to both employers and employees, in an attempt to address the three million people who are eligible for an occupational pension scheme yet do not have retirement planning in place.
