The story
In 2005, a 21-year-old student named Alex Tew sold a million pixels for $1 each, in blocks of 10 × 10, to pay for university. The page sold out within months and became part of internet history. The Million Dollar Homepage is still online.
Someone paid $400 for this block and linked it to europinions-finance.co.uk, with this line:
“UK Personal Finance Info - europinions-finance.com”
That site went offline long ago. You can still see europinions-finance.co.uk as it was in 2005 on the Wayback Machine.
The pixel has a new keeper
